Questions and answers
Why does it need access to shopping pages?
To read prices and add labels beside them. The beta uses a content script on HTTP and HTTPS pages. Page content is processed locally. Optional currency conversion and Bitcoin display fetch rates without sending your income, prices or shopping pages. The rate providers receive your IP address and the rate request.
Can anyone see my salary?
The extension stores the income you enter on your own device, in local browser storage. There is no TimeSats account or server receiving it. The website demo does not save its inputs.
Which currencies work?
NOK, SEK, DKK, EUR, GBP, USD, CHF, CAD, AUD and PLN. By default, price and income currencies must match. Optional currency conversion uses daily ECB reference rates through Frankfurter. Enable it in extension settings. Bank fees are not included; unavailable or old rates leave foreign prices unchanged. Ambiguous symbols are left alone unless page metadata or language resolves them.
Can I see prices in Bitcoin?
Yes. In extension Settings, choose Satoshis or Working time + satoshis. Optional Coinbase spot rates convert prices into sats (100,000,000 sats per BTC). The fetch time is shown on hover. No wallet connection is needed.
Can I turn it off on one website?
Yes. Open the extension popup and switch off that website. You can also disable TimeSats globally.
What if a price is missed or looks wrong?
Use the manual calculator, or select the price and choose “Show TimeSats” from the right-click menu. You can disable a site immediately. Detection favors clear current prices and skips uncertain ones.
